Beyond Double Consciousness: Bonsai Theory, Reconstructed Self Theory, and the Sociology of Internalized Structural Constraint

This paper extends W.E.B. Du Bois's concept of double consciousness by introducing Bonsai Theory and Reconstructed Self Theory as sociological frameworks for understanding how structural forces are internalized and how that internalization can be systematically undone. Accepted for Table 7 (Theory) in the Social Psychology and Emotions Roundtables.
